Renewable Sources of Energy of Croatia nominated for the Yellow Frame Award

The National Geographic Magazine Croatia is continuing this year as well with its project Yellow Frame for the sustainable development of science and education in order to inspire the interest of the public to learn about and participate in sustainable development.

The formal ceremony of the National Geographic magazine’s prestigious Yellow Frame award for sustainable development, science, and education, within the framework of the project Sustainable Croatia, was held on Wednesday, 15 December, in the Zagreb Hotel Hilton Garden Inn, as recognition to deserving individuals, associations, companies, and institutions which are giving the greatest contribution to sustainability in Croatia.  Renewable Energy of Croatia /OIEH) was nominated in category 7. – Making, sustainable and clean energy at affordable prices accessible to everyone.

National Geographic Magazine Croatia called upon its readers in the previous months to nominate their candidates – individuals, teams, companies, institutions, organizations, or associations after which an expert jury would decide the winner of the Yellow Frame by given categories for 2021. The theme at the focus of the project this year as well as the circular economy which is crucial for overall sustainable development while the call for nominations related to works in all 17 categories of sustainable development.

Within the 17 goals of sustainable development, as defined by the United Nations, the entities at the center of attention were those who in Croatia contributed most to sustainability, the development of a country of knowledge, environmental protection, and human values, namely, those who really contributed to the creation of a sustainable present and better future of this civilization of ours and who humbly thread on the yellow carpet rolled out for those who we perhaps don’t know but without whom there would perhaps be no acceptable future.

In the same category as OIEH, one of its members – Acciona energija was also nominated, while in category 12 for sustainable consumption and production another OIEH member, Oikon – the Institute for Applied Ecology. You can view all the other nominees HERE.
