At the invitation of investors in solar projects and the Government of the Una-Sana Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we visited Bihać on Tuesday, May 7th. The working meeting at the Government’s premises was attended by Minister of Construction Almir Imširović, Minister of Economy Armin Kardašević, Minister of Agriculture Mehmed Ćenanović, Minister of Construction and Spatial Planning of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Bekir Isaković, Director of the “Elektrodistribucija” Bihać branch of Elektroprivreda Bosnia and Herzegovina Dženad Pjanić, Director of OIEH Maja Pokrovac, legal expert at OIEH Tea Dabić, Head of Communications at OIEH Marija Hanzec, and interested investors Dedo Pjanić (AG), Dedo Bešić (BC Gradnja), and Mirsad Vreto (Powerdis).

RESC presented to the Government of Una-Sana Canton the latest amendments to the Spatial Planning Act, which expanded the areas where solar power plants are allowed and legally enabled the construction of agro-solar power plants on agricultural land for the first time. Additionally, amendments to the Regulation on Simple and Other Structures and Works were presented to the USC government, allowing the construction of solar and agro-solar power plants with an installed capacity of up to 10 MW, provided that property rights issues are resolved, without the need for an energy permit, location, and construction permit, with the obligation to obtain approval for the main project. All these changes will certainly accelerate and simplify investments in renewable energy sources, and we hope they will serve as an example of good practice for the Una-Sana Canton when amending their relevant construction and spatial planning regulations.
