From 20 to 22 May 2026, Opatija pulsed with the energy sector. Known as a city of European gatherings and a renowned tourism and conference destination, it hosted Dani OIE 2026, Croatia’s largest renewable energy conference with an international dimension.

At a time when Europe is increasingly seeking reliable and domestically produced sources of energy, the discussion on energy is no longer solely about technology or climate targets. It is becoming ever more closely linked to security of supply, economic competitiveness, and affordable long-term energy prices for households and businesses.

Dani OIE 2026 brought together 371 participants from 16 countries, representing 125 companies and 43 institutions.

The final day of the conference was dedicated to the Renewables For All project, which aims to empower local governments, energy communities, and small and medium-sized enterprises in Croatia to directly procure renewable electricity through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

Dani OIE 2026 was conceived as a platform for ideas, experience and investment—a place where discussions about energy are open, practical and forward-looking, with a clear focus on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for Croatia and Europe.
