World Renewable Energy Day is celebrated every year on April 26th in remembrance of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster that occurred in 1986. The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of researching and utilizing renewable energy sources.

Energy supply security, energy systems, ensuring stability and predictability of energy policies, and managing energy resources are essential for the fundamental functioning and economic growth and development of every country.

A significant portion of the greenhouse gases that cover the Earth and retain the Sun’s heat is produced by energy production, the burning of fossil fuels (oil, coal, and gas) for electricity and heat generation.

Science is clear: to limit climate change, we must stop relying on fossil fuels and invest in alternative energy sources that are clean, accessible, sustainable, and reliable. Renewable energy sources – which are abundant all around us and provided by the sun, wind, water, waste, and geothermal heat – are renewed by nature and offered to us for use.

To successfully and rapidly continue the green transition, RESC publishes monthly data on current electricity production opportunities by technology in our country, with a particular emphasis on progress in utilizing renewable sources.

This data is valuable to stakeholders in the energy sector, decision-makers, and the general public, who play an increasingly significant role in the energy transition.

On World Renewable Energy Day, we are publishing a consolidated report on electricity trends in 2023, showing developments from 2016 to 2023, comparing 2022 and 2023, and providing recommendations and forecasts for 2030.
