It is necessary to prompt competenct institutions to act more efficiently as well as to educate the public &nbsp;&#8211; was among other messaged from the two-day conference on the use of solar energy &#8216;<strong>Sunny Days&#8217;, &nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;which formally opened on the evening of 30 September at the Arsenal in Hvar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Neven-Duic\u0301.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"12623\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-orig-src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Neven-Duic\u0301-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-12623\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Neven-Duic\u03011.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"12624\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-orig-src=\"http:\/\/localhost:10003\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Neven-Duic\u03011-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"lazyload wp-image-12624\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After the introductory speeches of the organizors and the host, Prof. Dr, <strong>Neven Dui\u0107<\/strong>, from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding, gave a short presentation on the use of solars. He pointed out that only on &nbsp;the roofs in Croatia there is space for 4 GW &nbsp;ofsolars which could safisfy the requirement of 25 percent of the current needs for electricity. <em>The roof spaces in Croatia amount to 70m2, of which half can potentially be used for solars. However, although the number of roof installations has grown tenfold between 2019 and 2020, the number is still insufficient \u2013 bellow 1000 systems annually while we need 100.000 roof systems per year\u201c,<\/em> Dui\u0107 pointed out. He added that the price of solars is lower than ever before and emphasized that the future is solar and renewable.
