REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE

Renewable Energy Sources of Croatia, with partner support from WindEurope and under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Croatia, are organising the “Days of Good Wind” conference in June 2 – 3 in Dubrovnik. Interest in participating is extremely high and it is recommended to book your place as soon as possible. You can apply HERE.

“Days of Good Wind” will bring together representatives of European and international institutions, as well as representatives of ministries and the financial sector from the region, wind turbine manufacturers, electricity producers, the Oil & Gas industry involved in RES projects, representatives of the academic community who will all join discussions on trends in wind energy in Europe with a focus on Southeastern Europe. This conference will be a place of joint reflection and discussion on trends in wind energy in Europe emphasising Southeast Europe and Croatia, a place where wind creates a synergy of inventiveness and knowledge.

  • Conditions needed to accelerate project development and implement the energy transition
  • RES Simplify and EU Permitting Guidance
  • Electricity network development and new RES capacities
  • Project financing
  • Premium subsidies
  • CPPA – Corporate Power Purchase Agreement
  • Sector development influenced by global challenges
  • Added value of wind farms through ancillary services
  • Hybrid power plants: wind + solar + batteries + hydrogen
  • Offshore wind farms
  • Environmental protection with further development of RES

Wind accounts for 15% of Europe’s electricity demand and generates 300,000 jobs. The development of technology to achieve greater efficiency and environmental protection is in constant progress. There is also a growing market where corporate contracts for the direct purchase of wind-generated electricity are increasingly common. Changes are also evident in the financial sector for wind farm investments. Since 2017, EU Member States are obliged to launch competitive bidding mechanisms, such as auctions for Feed-in-Premiums, as laid down in EU state aid guidelines, which is crucial for industry development since it enables the realization of long-term investments, infrastructure, skills development and innovation. These are necessary steps towards a green transition and energy development in Europe. Croatia has the motivation and the responsibility to move towards achieving it, thus encouraging countries in the region to achieve their RES goals.

“We can not talk about renewables revolution if getting a permit to build a wind park takes 7 years. It is time to treat these projects as being in the over-riding public interests because they are.”
Kadri Simson, European commissioner for energy

In addition to the Conference, you will enjoy the beauty of Dubrovnik sailing on a magnificent replica of the traditional ship “Karaka” from the time of the Republic of Dubrovnik. The day after the conference, on Saturday, June 4, we organise a networking excursion to Cavtat and Konavle, which includes wine tasting and lunch.

Welcome to the “Days of Good Wind” conference!
