Renewable Energy Projects on Hold
Although by the end of 2024, Croatia has an obligation, according to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, to build 1500 megawatts of new renewable energy source (RES) facilities, which would increase energy capacities by 25 percent, projects are on hold due to the lack of adoption of secondary legislation. Now, a decision on the fee for connection to the energy network is awaited. Fortunately, thanks to its historical legacy, Croatia mostly produces low-carbon electricity.
